LabRP
Psychosocial Rehabilitation Laboratory
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Laboratory was established in 2008 through a collaborative partnership between the School of Health at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto and the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Porto.
From the outset, its mission has been to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of neuropsychiatric disorders. Today, these disorders represent a significant public health challenge, with high prevalence rates both in Portugal and across the European Union.
It is essential to have dedicated research institutions that not only investigate these conditions but also pioneer the development of innovative technologies and approaches. Such efforts are vital to enhancing rehabilitation processes and promoting the social integration of individuals living with neuropsychiatric disorders.
Mission
To lead the future of Digital Mental Health and Psychosocial Rehabilitation through excellence in research, innovation, education, and societal impact. Committed to advancing transformative technologies and evidence-based interventions, the laboratory promotes mental health, recovery, participation, and human flourishing across diverse populations and settings. By bridging science, technology, and care, it develops innovative solutions that improve lives, reduce inequalities, and contribute to the transformation of person-centered, inclusive, and resilient healthcare systems.
Vision
To shape the future of Mental Health and Psychosocial Rehabilitation through pioneering research, transformative technologies, and innovation with societal impact. Recognized as a benchmark for excellence in Digital Mental Health, the laboratory aspires to advance knowledge, inspire new models of care, and contribute to a world where technology empowers recovery, inclusion, well-being, and human potential.
Scientific Positioning
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Laboratory (LabRP) is a multidisciplinary research and innovation hub dedicated to advancing Digital Mental Health and Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
